I very rarely buy greetings cards, they are so easy to make and so much more personal. Of late I’ve been making a few cards based around the Facebook messenger stickers that I use. I really like this one it’s so cute, a little heart package and a hug all in one. With Father’s Day approaching.. I think sometime in early June. (I’m rubbish with dates so have to do everything early, just in case) I thought it would be really nice to show you how easy it is to whip one of these up in just ten minutes.
I was not gifted with any drawing ability so it’s a good job I like the simple stickers. You can bring them up on a screen and trace them or just break them down as I have here.
You will need:
- White printer paper
- a red marker
- a black marker
- some card stock
I’m using some handmade paper that I used for another project. If you want to learn how to make your own paper, it’s super easy.
Take your white paper and follow these drawings step by step left to right, slowly building up the little character.
When you have them all drawn out, take the scissors and cut around the entire image leaving a 1-2mm border around the edge. You can apply glue to the underside and stick it to your card stock, which should be folded in half. Then all that’s left is to add your greeting! Simple huh?
Your Dad is going to be so chuffed with this handmade Father’s day card. Now I hope you are inspired and are going to make these for Birthdays, Valentines, Mothers day and any event you can.. get creative, there are a ton of stickers out there to give you inspiration, I’ve added a few below.
Happy Crafting xx
